David Archuleta Already Has A Memoir?

David Archuleta looks at the world with an appreciative sense of wonder that's both charming and appealing. That trait comes through loud and clear in the 19-year-old's book, Chords of Strength: A Memoir of Soul, Song, and the Power of Perseverance, out this week.

Most celebrity memoirs, especially ones from young stars, read like superficial, thrown-together works. But Chords of Strength is something different: It genuinely captures David's voice, in both its content and its cadence.

Reading the book is like listening to him speak. The book spends as much time on the way David views life as it does with his personal history.

American Idol weaves through the story on many levels -- attending the first season's finale shows, meeting future contestants Joelle James (a Season 6 semi-finalist) and Tori Kelly (a Hollywood contestant during Season 9) while competing on Star Search and, of course, his time on the show.

David also discusses his vocal paralysis at length. While he was on Star Search, David was diagnosed as having one working vocal cord and one that was paralyzed, a condition that forced him to stop singing publicly for a while.

Though he eventually regained his voice, he learned the true extent of his condition during his Idol run.

"The one vocal cord, it seemed, had actually grown up over and around the weak one in order to adjust for the other one not working," he writes.

The book several lists, such as favorite artists, interviews and Idol memories. David also offers a musical appendix listing several of his favorite songs, which range from Mariah Carey's Butterfly to Led Zeppelin's Kashmir.

It's hard to imagine one of David's fans not enjoying Chords of Strength. It would also be instructive for aspiring singers considering the talent-competition route, since David goes into great detail about the things in his life that prepared him for Idol and his thought processes and biggest challenges during the show.

A memoir at 19? How much can he say about life? This has got to be what? 20 pages or so in length. There's probably more pictures than stories. I wonder if he even wrote it - not that it matters. I'm sure all the little girls and boys will buy it for the pretty pictures.

Forbes Ranks Top "American Idol" Earners

According to a Forbes ranking of the top earning “Idol” contestants, the music market is pretty well saturated with almost 100 "Idol" alumni and the odds are against this season’s winner raking in the dough.


Last year’s winner, Kris Allen, sold only 300,000 copies of his album, and if ratings and vote tallies are any indication, fans may have moved beyond voting for their favorites with their wallets.

Neither Bowersox nor DeWyze is expected to do as well as No. 1 on the Forbes list, Carrie Underwood.

The publication, which ranked "Idol" stars according to earnings made from June 2009 to May 2010, says the country singer raked in $13 million, making her the most financially successful artist launched from the show.

Coming in a close second was season one champ Kelly Clarkson, whose millions of records sold plus a successful tour helped her garner $11.7 million over the past year. Third place finisher on the list is Chris Daughtry, who earned $10.2 million.

Not too shabby for the man who finished fourth on season five of the show behind that year’s winner Taylor Hicks, who didn’t even rank on the Forbes list.

American Idol Winner Is Not Crystal?????

Ok, what the hell just happened?  I thought tonight's decision should've been a no brainer after all Crystal Bowersox wiped Lee Dewyze's butt with her killer performances last night.  So how did that translate into her losing the American Idol title???

I just cun't understand it.  There's a foul odor in the air and it sure smells of a fix.

Janet Jackson performed some boring song on American Idol before lip syncing to the tune of her hit NASTY.    Paula Abdul was in the audience, creaming herself with excitement,  as she watched  Ms. Janet sporting her original ass size and busting the moves she once choreographed back in the 80's.

Madonna New American Idol Judge?

The Simon Cowell era is over and I'm sure the American Idol will now be over too. I know I only watched the show for Simon, so its funny to hear who they'll replace the popular judge with. Rumors first had Howard Stern taking over, which would've been amazing, but now that Howard has shot that rumor down himself, a new one pops up.

Madonna is now rumored to replace Simon Cowell on Idol.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Simon is going to leave a gaping hole. Not only is he an expert, he's also a big star in the States. Everyone agrees Madge would be great and they want her as a full-time judge. But if that fails they'd at least like her as a mentor."

I think you'd be happy to even have her make a brief appearance on the show, let alone judge for it. I could throw out any number of rock star names just to start a rumor. Let's see - Paul McCartney, Bruce Springteen, Bono, Beyonce, and Britney Spears. And what do they all have in common with Madonna. None of them will be an American Idol judge.

Paula Abdul, GOTTA DANCE

Paula Abdul will be bringing her unique brand of wackiness uniqueness back to TV.  She will be judging a dance contest Dance fever show.   This is so original!

In a statement, Ms. Abdul said,

“I am thrilled to be creative partners with Reveille, Shine and CBS and to present the best new dance talent to American audiences. Each and every week we’ll showcase the challenges and successes of a fantastic group of dancers, as they perform and compete — compelling stories, exciting competition and amazing dance performances are guaranteed.”





I would have never imagined Paula being a judge on another reality show.  Paula needs to step up her game if she wants to compete with today's dancers.  She needs fresh new moves and definitely needs Deney Terrio as her co-judge!   He was responsible for those disco dance moves that John Travolta strutted in Saturday Night Fever  - now, THAT's dancing!   Paula should also see if she can borrow those Solid Gold Dancers - they're out of work and jonsing for a new job.  

I just cun't wait to see Paula ruin mentor dancers that can dance better than she can.!

Will Paula Abdul Return For Idol Finale

It’s no secret that the producers of American Idol like to keep the names of performers on finale night under wraps.

But two things are certain — Crystal Bowersox or Lee DeWyze will be crowned the season 9 champ on Wednesday, and fans will see the last of Simon Cowell before he jumps over to X Factor in 2011.

But a source tells PEOPLE that a special send-off planned for the cranky judge will feature some Idol alums, including a special appearance by Paula Abdul.

And among the superstars taking the stage? Watch for a great performance by Christina Aguilera.

Seacrest Loves Him Some Barely Legal Action

Ryan Seacrest is a dirty old man.

The American Idol host has reportedly been on a few dates with former Dancing with the Stars regular and minor Julianne Hough.

The pair were spotted out together last month, but Hough, who is now pretending to be a country music singer, insisted it was a business meeting. hmmmm business? You two are getting down to business and we all know it! Rumors started last month but reps said they only met for a night of hot fucking business with their managers. A rep for Hough, tells Page 6, “We do not wish to comment on Julianne’s private life,” adding that she’ll release her new album on Universal Music Group’s Mercury Nashville label this fall. Wait, did she release an album already? I bet it was one of those silent smash hits on the charts for those core country listeners. Yehhhawwww!

If I do the math - Ryan Seacrest is 36 years old, who insists he's not fucking Julianne Hoff, 22.  That's a 14 year difference.  Never would I have imagined Ryan so kinky as I imagined him very gay.  It's clearly, so very porn, like a scene from "Barely Legal" or "Young 'n Hot Naughty Nymphos.  Somebody is definitely screaming "oh daddy, fuck me, fuck me, fuck me" during some very hard poon pouding.  I'm hoping they'll have a sex tape one day. Go Seacrest out go!

Hmmm I wonder what Simon, Randy, Kara and Ellen must think of this relationship? Simon must be somewhat relieved because the gay bashing rumours may come to a temporary halt.  Randy is definitely feeling it dog and must be offering Seacrest some advice - "Dog, give it your best, I know you'll find [sex] aight, dog".  And while Kara smiles and cries tears of joy, poor Ellen just wishes she had muff of her own.

Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell are "Friendly"

Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell have a special relationship.  They are alway tossing around gay banters toward each other.

"We're actually friendly," the "Idol" host said." "We don't hold a grudge. We have a very competitive spirit and attitude on the show, but we're friends."

I believe "friendly" is the closeted man's way of saying oral happens often and when it does the ground shakes!

Teflon Tim

American Idol finalist Tim Urban keeps advancing and I'm simply baffled as to how he does it.

No matter how horrible he performs, Teflon Tim keeps going and going.

How is it possible?  I just can’t seem to put my finger on him it.

He seems to be holding his own (wouldn't you all love to see that!)

but what could it really be?

Why does America keep voting for him?

Do they really see talent in him?

Has the three months of formal singing training really paid off?

Ah....I think it’s starting to make sense...everyone wants to perform oral on him stage with him – perhaps in a duet or a threesome..
