Malcolm McLaren recently passed away in Switzerland of cancer.
He brought together and managed the Sex Pistols in the 70's, helping to bring punk music and its fashion to the forefront. About the music scene, he once said, "Rock and roll doesn't necessarily mean a band. It doesn't mean a singer, and it doesn't mean a lyric, really. It's that question of trying to be immortal."
After the Sex Pistols, McClaren went on to manage 80's bands Adam Ant and Bow Wow Wow before venturing on his own to create what was then considered avant garde music with notable hits "Buffalo Gals", "Double Dutch" and "Madame Butterfly".
He is survived by his son Joseph Corre whom he had with designer Vivienne Westwood (hmmm...I always thought he was gay with that prissy voice of his but I digress) and his longtime partner Young Kim.
Got no right no right to doubt it
Ain't no doubt no doubt about it - Malcolm will be missed.
